This course is for people who have mild to moderate learning difficulties and disabilities. You have to be at least 19 years old and you will need to meet up for a talk with one of our staff before you join a course. It doesn’t matter whether you have done Art classes before, you will still learn new things and enjoy meeting new people on this course.

The different sorts of Art and Craft, such as ● Drawing ● Painting ● Collage ● Printing ● Sewing ● Making models You will also learn about famous artists and use their work for your own ideas.

There will be no exams or qualifications, and the course will focus on creative activities. There will be a specialist Art tutor to teach you, and when you meet the staff before you sign up for the course, we will find out whether the course is right for you, and what extra support you might need. So that you can be successful in learning the subject, you must turn up on time and try not to miss any classes. Lessons will be classroom based and supported by Google Classroom. This is an online place where your tutor will share all sorts of information and activities about your course. You will be able to access Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. For more information go to our FAQ page. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress. In every lesson, you will let us know how you are getting on, and your tutor will let you know how to get even better. Extra costs: You will all get a sketchbook and learn how to use it properly. Everything else you need will be provided.

Every year, some work will be part of an Art Exhibition.
