Interested in learning about computerised accounting software? This initial short course will introduce you to our level 2 SAGE qualification course and how the software is relevant to a range of career opportunities in all areas of business. It will allow you to explore this area of learning before committing to the course. You will be required to attend this course prior to starting the online delivery of the level 2 SAGE courses specifically, to ensure you understand this method of delivery as well as confirming it is the right level of course for you.

• SAGE software – a very basic introduction how the software works and the existing skills you will need to learn to use it • The difference between the AAT and SAGE courses we offer- to decide which is best for you. • The mixed delivery method for the level 2 SAGE course, including online, remote and classroom sessions. • Google classroom and Google Meet applications – which you will use for the SAGE course.

This course is a non-accredited course that will act as a taster and assessment session where you learn about courses and employment involving computerised accounts. There is no written work but you may decide to undertake the necessary assessment to join the qualification courses we offer, once you have confirmed the right course for you.

There are no specific entry requirements although you should ideally be qualified to a minimum of Entry 3 in English and Maths. SAGE is desirable as it will provide you with a solid base. Essential digital skills are necessary, although learners in need of support can access free essential digital skills courses alongside their SAGE/AAT courses. Access to a computer (Windows or Mac) outside of class time is essential for homework completion. You should have a desire to succeed in the accounting sector.

On successful completion of the required initial assessments this course will lead onto the level 2 SAGE Computerised Accounting. Alternatively, it could indicate that further study of English or digital skills will be required prior to progressing to the level 2 or that other courses are more suited to your career aims. You will be able to discuss and confirm your entitlement to fee funding for the qualification course before enrolling on this introductory course. Additional proof of low wage or unemployment status will be required. Please see the fees policy on our website or talk to our enrolment advisors for more information. Leicester Adult Education are pleased to offer a free, impartial in-house careers service to support our learners in making decisions around their future career goals and choices. We have physical and digital resources available to support you and face to face careers appointments with our qualified and experienced adviser, all of which are easily accessed once enrolled.
