French Talk: Study of a region - Normandie

This foreign language talk will be delivered entirely in French, so you will need a good understanding of the spoken language to understand the content. You don’t need to be a fluent speaker, but you do need to understand sentences on unfamiliar topics.

La Normandie est une région du nord-ouest de la France qui bénéficie d'une culture et d'une histoire très riches.  Durant cette session, nous discuterons de ses événements historiques les plus marquants, ainsi que de son héritage culturel: personnages célèbres dans les arts mais aussi ses spécialités culinaires les plus connues. Normandy is a region from Northern France which is very rich culturally and historically. During this session, we will discuss its most significant historical events, as well as its cultural heritage: the famous artists linked to the region but also its most famous culinary dishes.

Resources will be shared on Google classroom before and after the talk, so it is important that you have access to this Virtual Learning Platform to stay up to date. There will be no exams or qualifications, and the course will focus mainly on listening comprehension. At the end you will complete a simple task or a quiz to check your understanding and overall comprehension of the presentation. Additionally, we are going to ask you to complete a course evaluation survey to share your learning experience. This survey will be shared via Google classroom at the end of the course.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language to enable you to follow the content.
