French Talk: Portrait - Coco Chanel

This foreign language talk will be delivered entirely in French, so you will need a good understanding of the spoken language to understand the content. You don’t need to be a fluent speaker, but you do need to understand sentences on unfamiliar topics.

Tout le monde connaît le nom de Coco Chanel, la fondatrice de la grande maison de Haute Couture qui continue de porter son nom aujourd'hui. Durant cette session, nous parlerons du parcours de cette créatrice innovante et douée en affaires, mais nous évoquerons également certains passages plus sombres de son existence. Everyone knows the name Coco Chanel, founder of the fashion house that still bears her name today. During this session, we will talk about the journey of this innovative Fashion designer and gifted businesswoman, but we will also evoke some more somber moments of her life.

There will be no exams or qualifications, and the course will focus mainly on listening comprehension. At the end you will complete a simple task or a quiz to check your understanding and overall comprehension of the presentation. Resources will be shared on Google classroom before and after the talk, so it is important that you have access to this Virtual Learning Platform to stay up to date. Additionally, students will be asked to complete a course evaluation survey to share their learning experience. This survey will be shared via Google classroom at the end of the course.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language to enable you to follow the content.
