Enhancement Italian: Italian Grammar

Lessons will be delivered in Italian and English to ensure complete understanding of the explanations. You will need a good foundation of the language to be able to produce it verbally when talking about a variety of everyday topics where the grammar will be applied.

Do you want to review and reinforce your Italian grammar? In this short course we will practice together some grammar points that are more difficult but also more useful for your spoken and listened language.

There will be no exams or qualifications. Whilst you will, predominantly, be using speaking and listening skills in class, it is also important to recognise and address the fact that reading and writing skills are also very important at this level. Reading and writing will be explored as part of weekly homework, via Google Classroom, which the tutor will mark and feed the results back to you. This will help you both to know what needs to be done to help you progress. Developing independent language skills will be important at this stage in order that you become proficient at studying on your own. Tutors will encourage you and make sure you have the appropriate skills to make it a positive experience. So that you can be successful in learning the language, we do require that you arrive promptly for each lesson, and that you agree to attend at least 80% of the lessons. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress during the course. You will be expected to comment briefly in writing on your learning, and your tutor will give you feedback and suggestions on ways in which you can improve.

You need to have an understanding of the Italian language equal to or above a CEFR level A2 (Level 1).

There is a variety of short enhancement courses planned during the academic year that you may like to attend. Your tutor will be able to give you more information before the end of the course.
