Maths Entry 3 FS

We offer Maths qualifications from Entry 1 to Level 2. We deliver City & Guilds Functional Skills. We will discuss with you the most appropriate starting point for your maths studies. These qualifications will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills needed to: • gain a qualification • progress on to other courses • support your children with their maths homework

• number • measure, shape and space • handling data • maths language and vocabulary • problem solving by using different strategies and memory techniques

We offer: Twice-a-week courses – 4.5 hours a week, where exams take place during February and June/July. If you can commit to 4.5 hours a week you will be able to complete two levels of Maths in one academic year. Once-a-week courses – 2.5 hours per week with most exams taking place in June/July. Although the classes are face-to-face your teacher will also use Google Classroom, Google Meet, and other websites to help you access additional online learning. Therefore, you will need regular access to a PC, laptop or tablet. To successfully complete the course, you must arrive promptly for each lesson, and attend at least 80% of the lessons. You will also be expected to complete weekly homework. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan in which you and the tutor will be able to monitor your progress. Before starting a Maths course with Leicester Adult Education you will need to complete an initial assessment in both Maths and English. This will enable you to be placed on the most appropriate course to meet your needs.
