Life Drawing - The Structural Form

This day course is for learners with mixed ability in drawing. The tutor will ensure that total beginners will get the instruction and support they need, and that those who are more advanced in the subject will be challenged further to show attention to detail and accurate representation of the form. You will be working from unclothed models of any gender.

You will learn to work directly from observation of the model at an easel. Experiment with a variety of drawing media and paint. Explore the structural form of the body by studying proportion and using mark making. Capture a likeness of the model in the style of chosen artists using line, tone & shade.

The lesson will be classroom based and supported by Google Classroom. This is our virtual learning space which will enhance your learning experience and will be used for resources, assessment, as well as to extend learning and support independent learning.  You will be able to access Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. So that you can be successful in learning the subject, we do require that you arrive promptly.  You will be asked to contribute to a Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress. You will be expected to comment briefly in writing on your learning, and your tutor will give you feedback and suggestions on ways in which you can improve. Extra costs: All equipment will be provided for you to use in this one day session. You are welcome to bring your own art materials if you want to practice using more than the kit provided in class.

There will be no exams or qualifications, as the course will focus on creative activities. The Tutor will use a combination of group demonstrations and one-to-one support.
