British Sign Language for Beginners - Part 2

This course is intended for people with some knowledge of basic British Sign Language (BSL). It is the perfect progression for anyone who has successfully completed our British Sign Language for Beginners course.

This course will cover the following areas in BSL; Conversational BSL, hand shape and faster paced fingerspelling, facial expressions, understanding quicker signs, role play and receptive skills.

There will be no exams or qualifications, and the course will focus on practical activities. So that you can be successful in learning the subject, we do require that you arrive promptly for the lesson and that you try not to miss any (you need to agree to attend at least 80% of the lessons). Lessons will be classroom based and supported by Google Classroom. This is our virtual learning space which will enhance your learning experience and will be used for resources, assessments, extra activities, as well as to extend learning and support independent learning throughout the week. You will be able to access Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. For more information go to our FAQ page. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress.

Some experience of British Sign Language is required.
