This course is suitable for those who have an advanced knowledge of the language (CEFR Level C1/C2). Ideally, you would have completed a level 5 course.

You will focus on discussions around news relevant to the Spanish speaking world, reading, listening and taking part in conversations and debates about current events.

You will have the opportunity to practise your Spanish and enrich your vocabulary while exploring news topics in a variety of contexts such as culture, economy, local and national affairs, society, sports and science. Anything that is current or recent news and is agreed by the participants can be used in this news and debate class to help individuals develop their skills and become aware of what is happening in different corners of the Spanish speaking countries.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language, as well as be able to produce it verbally (to a greater or lesser degree of accuracy) in order to access lessons and complete tasks effectively.

This course leads to advanced courses (CEFR C1/C2). Your tutor will be able to give you more information before the end of your course.
