Advanced Spanish: Galicia (Galiza) in Spain

This course is suitable for those who have an advanced knowledge of the language (CEFR Level C1/C2). Ideally, you would have completed a level 5 course.

This course will allow learners to gain an understanding of Galicia (Galiza), an autonomous region of Spain which is often overlooked as a destination to visit. We will explore the history, culture and language that Galicia has to offer and learn about some of the places that make up the region. The first part of the course will allow learners to practice their Spanish listening skills. Then there will be an opportunity to practice Spanish speaking through discussion in pairs or small groups and the testing of reading comprehension through a short exercise.

There will be no exams or qualifications. This course will mainly be delivered in the language using an immersive approach. Whilst you will, predominantly, be using speaking and listening skills in class, it is also important to recognise and address the fact that reading and writing skills are also very important at this level. Reading and writing will be explored as part of weekly homework, via Google Classroom, which the tutor will mark and feed the results back to you. This will help you both to know what needs to be done to help you progress.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language, as well as be able to produce it verbally (to a greater or lesser degree of accuracy) in order to access lessons and complete tasks effectively.

This course leads to advanced courses (CEFR C1/C2). Your tutor will be able to give you more information before the end of your course.
