Level 3 - Introduction into Accounting

This course is the 3 week introduction to the AAT Level 3 Accounting qualification that you are required to attend prior to starting the full qualification. If you already have a little experience in accounting or have not been in education recently, you will benefit from this course before deciding if a longer-term commitment to the Level 3 course is suitable for you at this time. Most people joining the Level 3 course will have completed the AAT Level 2 Accountancy qualification. However, knowledge gained through employment or with overseas qualifications may be sufficient to join at Level 3.

On the introduction course you will gain a deeper understanding of the whole Level 3 qualification course and the work required to achieve it.

This three-session course will run immediately before the full qualification and timetabled to match the days and times of the follow-on Level 3 course. It is a non-accredited course, but you will be required to undertake a diagnostic assessment to confirm you are ready for the full qualification.

You will be asked to complete an initial assessment prior to this course, to determine if this will be the right level for you to progress onto the full Level 3 course. You will need to have English and Maths skills at equivalent to GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills for this course. If you do not have proof of these qualifications, you will need to undertake an English and Maths assessment before joining this course. Your eligibility for course fee funding for the Level 3 qualification should be considered prior to enrolling on this free introductory course. This course will either lead directly onto the Level 3 AAT Accountancy Diploma or you may decide that a different level or alternative subject is more suitable for your career goals.
