Creative Writing Beginners: Getting Ready for intermediate.

Beginners courses are intended for people with some previous knowledge of the subject, ideally having previously completed An introduction to Creative Writing. This course is designed to bridge the gap between developing ideas and drafting to polishing, expanding on ideas and reading for craft. This course will develop scene structure and examine poetic techniques in a range of contemporary literature

This course will cover craft-based exercises, drafting and editing, developing ideas and writing for craft and enhance your skills reading as a writer

There will be no exams or qualifications. Lessons will be classroom based and supported by Google Classroom. This is our virtual learning space which will enhance your learning experience and will be used for resources, extra activities, homework, assignments, as well as to extend learning and support independent learning throughout the week. You will be able to access Google Classroom via a secure leicesterlearns account. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress. You will be expected to comment briefly in writing on your learning, and your tutor will give you feedback and suggestions on ways in which you can improve. So that you can be successful in your learning, we require that you arrive promptly for each lesson, and that you try not to miss any (you need to agree to attend at least 80% of the lessons). Additionally, students will be asked to complete a course evaluation survey to share their learning experience. This survey will be shared via Google classroom at the end of the course.

This course is for those that have completed a beginners course and want to start their journey towards intermediate.
