Be Creative: Arts & Craft

This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning disabilities. This course will benefit people who are creative and enjoy expressing themselves through different art projects using different materials and methods. They will enjoy trying new techniques in different styles to produce a range of creative products.

On this course you will develop a range of artistic skills from drawing, painting, and printing to collage, sewing, and making models. You will learn about famous artists and use their work to inspire your own ideas, developing your research and design skills along the way. You will be given a sketchbook to keep all ideas in which will be yours to take home at the end of the course. You will get the chance to display your work at our annual art exhibition.

Our Be Creative courses focus on fun, practical activities that will help you to gain and develop the skills to create your own designs and projects. All or our courses will have a Google Classroom which is an online place where your tutor will share information about your course. You can get on your Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. Your tutor can help you to do this. Whilst learning with us, you will be given an Individual Learning Plan. This will be used to share your course outcomes and your personal outcome and how much progress you are making towards them. Every session, your tutor will chat with you about your work and how you are getting on with your learning and the projects you are working on.
