If you are looking for work; you are new to the UK employment process or returning to work after a long break, this short qualification will increase your chance of success. This course is especially suited to people who are already working as a volunteer in the UK or have had some work experience, but the course will be tailored to meet the individual needs and levels of the participants.

The basics of job hunting including assessing your work skills, completing online applications, creating tailored CVs as well as a range of other skills and knowledge that are expected by employers in a range of different industries.

This course is delivered in an IT classroom to allow you to get direct support from the teacher and be able to use suitable IT equipment to complete the tasks required. The qualification will be assessed through a mixture of on screen multiple choice assessment and a portfolio of your work throughout the course.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you should be working at a minimum of Functional Skills Entry 3 or Level 1 ESOL. You will also need to be confident using computers at a basic level to be able to create a document and search the internet. If you do not have evidence of these skills, we will ask you to complete an initial assessment to confirm that this course is at the right level for you.

The aim of this course is to support you to gain employment in job roles that suit your needs and skills. This qualification will support you to demonstrate that you are preparing for work and will empower you to feel more confident about getting back into employment.
