Be Creative: Drama

This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning disabilities. This course will benefit people who enjoy sharing stories, ideas and feeling whilst taking part in a variety of drama-based activities and games listening to and creating music. Learners will have the opportunity to create, explore and perfom as part of a group.

In this drama course, you'll learn to share your ideas and feelings with others when making stories together in a safe and supportive way. You'll practice working as a team by listening to each other, taking turns to speak, and respecting everyone's thoughts and feelings. We'll help you feel more confident in sharing your own experiences and why they matter to you. You'll also learn how to create and act out stories in different ways for an audience to enjoy.

Our Be Yourself courses focus on fun, practical activities that will help you to gain and develop the skills to share your feelings and thoughts and to let people know more about who you are. All or our courses will have a Google Classroom which is an online place where your tutor will share information about your course. You can get on your Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. Your tutor can help you to do this. Whilst learning with us, you will be given an Individual Learning Plan. This will be used to share your course outcomes and your personal outcome and how much progress you are making towards them. Every session, your tutor will chat with you about your work and how you are getting on with your learning and the projects you are working on.

For people aged 25 and over with moderate learning disabilities. Before you join the course, you will meet one of our team who will help you make the right choice of course and to make sure we understand the best way to help you learn, progress, and enjoy your time.
