Let's Get from A to B: Digital Skills for Local Travel

The course is designed for individuals with minimal or no digital experience, aiming to empower them to confidently navigate a wide array of online travel apps to enhance local travel. These very small group classes are designed for beginners and people with low confidence.

Learn how to use your smart devices to navigate local transportation with ease. Whether you are walking, catching a bus, booking a taxi, or checking train schedules, this course will equip you with the essential skills to make your travels easier and more efficient. We will cover essential digital skills on how to use apps, timetables, and real-time updates to move around your city with confidence, saving time and money. By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident using your smartphone or tablet to make your local travel efficient, stress-free, and well-organised

This is a face-to-face, classroom based course. You will be learning in an individualised environment at your own level and pace with the help and support of an experienced tutor. Your tutor will support you throughout this course until you have achieved your outcomes, at which point they will discuss progression opportunities for you. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress.

There are no formal entry requirements. However, you are expected to have basic entry level English reading, listening and comprehension skills. You will also need to bring your personal smart device to the session (SMART phone, tablet, laptop). If you do not have one, you can borrow one of ours in the session.

You can progress onto further digital courses and other pathways that are suitable by the end of the three weeks. You can also get access to free impartial careers Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) through the careers service at Leicester Adult Education.
