Let's Get Digital

Our Let’s Get Digital sessions, funded by Public Health, support learners to develop their digital skills.

Do you, or someone you know have little or no confidence using digital smart devices, such as mobile phones or tablets?

Our Let’s Get Digital sessions support learners to develop their digital skills. We aim to help them feel more self-assured to use their devices and get online independently.

Sessions are held in small face-to-face groups, across different community venues in Leicester. They run once-a-week for 2 hours, for 3 consecutive weeks. This course is free.

Let’s Get Digital is funded by Public Health to encourage people to use their digital devices confidently to access important NHS websites and the NHS app. In addition, learners will be able to explore how the digital world can help them improve their social wellbeing and connect with other social groups.

The sessions will also cover:

. Keeping safe online - recognising spam, phishing, identity theft and catfishing attempts
. Creating strong passwords
. Using Wi-Fi
. Using and scanning QR codes
. Using search engines more effectively to find places, courses and social groups for personal interests and hobbies.
. Downloading the NHS app (including 111) and other wellbeing apps
. Logging onto GP surgeries, including booking appointments and ordering medication.

These sessions aim to support learners to develop skills on their own devices, so attendees must bring their own smart devices with them. Their devices must also be able to connect to the internet. There will be public Wi-Fi available. Learners are also required to have set up an active email account. However, if they do not have an email account, they can still join the course and/or welcome to join one of our monthly Friday morning drop-in sessions to get support creating an email account.  The dates of the drop-in sessions are:
