PREMIT is for those adults who are not ready to embark on a course leading to a qualification. It will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills needed to: • complete everyday tasks • increase confidence words and numbers • progress on to entry level courses

• English ■ reading ■ writing ■ speaking and listening • Maths ■ adding ■ subtracting ■ handling money ■ time • IT ■ basic computer skills ■ using the internet safely

Before starting an PREMIT course with LAE you will need to complete an English initial assessment. This will enable you to be placed on the appropriate course to meet your needs.

There are no exams on PREMIT courses. They are face to face, once a week at Leicester Adult College. You will be expected to arrive promptly for each lesson and attend at least 80% of the course. You will also be expected to complete homework. You will be given an Individual Learning Plan in which you and the tutor will be able to monitor your progress. Although the classes are face-to-face your teacher will also use Google Classroom, Google Meet, and other websites to help you access online learning and develop your skills using IT. Therefore, you will need regular access to a laptop or tablet. Please speak to an Enrolment Advisor for information or advice about booking an initial assessment.
