Advice, Assessment and Enrolment Sessions

Throughout the year, our ESOL, English, Maths and Skills for Work teams hold Advice, Assessment and Enrolment Sessions to help you explore our courses and find the ones that best supports your goals.

Learn more about the sessions and discover any upcoming dates here.

Before joining one of our English, Maths, ESOL, Digital or Skills for Work courses, you will need to join one of our Advice, Assessment and Enrolment Sessions. This is to help you join a course that best supports your learning needs and aspirations.

At the session, you will be able to talk to a staff member about your goals and which courses(s) you will need to achieve your aim. You will be able to ask any questions you may have. Once you have selected a course(s), you will be asked to complete an initial assessment.

The process will likely take at least an hour, longer at peak times, so please do plan accordingly.

An Initial Assessment is test where you’ll answer some questions related to the course you’d like to enrol onto. This helps us understand your current skills and knowledge, so we can place you on the right level of course to best support your learning.

You may be required to complete an English and / or Maths assessment to ensure you meet the entry requirements for digital and vocational qualifications, unless you have studied English or Maths with us recently.

After completing your initial assessment, you may have another conversation with a member of staff about your result and the course you can enrol onto. In some cases, you might be contacted back at a later date to confirm your enrolment.
