Enhancement Spanish: Spanish Cinema

This session is aimed at learners who are independent language users with a solid foundation and confident understanding of Spanish. It will enable you to verbally produce the language via group discussion and receive it in an auditory way, whilst expanding your knowledge and awareness of Spanish history and cinema.

Antes de ver la película tendremos una discusión informal en la que hablaremos del director, los actores, la trama, los personajes, después miraremos la película y después del visionado, compartiremos impresiones y lo que hemos aprendido. Es una excelente oportunidad para escuchar español, expandir cultura y conversar con otros estudiantes interesados en el cine. (películas por confirmar). If you like to watch movies in Spanish, this course may interest you. Before seeing the film we will have an informal discussion in which we will talk about the director, the actors, the plot, the characters. Then we will watch the film and after viewing it, we will share impressions and what we have learned. It is an excellent opportunity to listen to Spanish, expand your cultural knowledge and talk with other students interested in cinema. (films to be confirmed).

Resources will be shared on Google classroom before and after this session, so it is important that you have access to this Virtual Learning Platform to stay up to date. There will be no exams or qualifications, and the course will focus mainly on discussion and listening comprehension. At the end you will complete a simple task or a quiz to check your understanding and overall comprehension of the film.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language to enable you to follow the content. Additionally, you need to able to express opinions in Spanish in order to hold an informal discussion with their peers.

There will be a Spanish cinema session in each term that you may like to attend. Additionally, LAEC offers a variety of Spanish courses that may interest you. You can access free impartial careers Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) through the careers service at Leicester Adult Education. We are here to help you to make informed choices about your future pathways and support you to progress towards your goals.
