Level 2 Award in Digital and IT User Skills

The Level 2 Award in Digital and IT User Skills follows on after completing a Level 1 qualification. You will have gained experience using the internet and digital devices in Level 1, this Level 2 award builds on this to help you get to grips with online technologies as well as introducing more in depth understaning of social media and digital marketing.

The Level 2 Award course will cover 2 modules: Social Media Marketing and Using Digital Technologies. You will learn about the role of social media marketing, how to engage with audiences and begin developing marketing strategies. You will also learn how to access online digital services, online document systems and collaboration tools.

The Level 2 Award will take place in one of the digital suites at Leicester Adult Education. You will work through various activities and class discussions to help build your skills across the 2 modules. Throughout the course your tutor will assess your understanding and guide you as you build a portfolio of work. You will be given tasks and activities to help develop your skills and work towards the outcomes related to the 2 modules. There are no exams in this qualification, instead you will build up a portfolio of work to demonstrate your skills.

You will be expected to have completed Essential Digital Skills - Level 1 to this qualification. You will also need to demonstrate a minimum of Entry 3 English skills.

This course will give you important skills to navigate social media marketing in your business and will also give you skills that are important for the full Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills. You may also wish to focus on building your confidence with Microsoft applications in either the Microsoft Skills - Intermediate or the Microsoft Skills - Advanced courses.
