Be Independent: Get To Know Your City

This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning disabilities. This course will benefit people who want to find out about what their city has to offer and who want to be more independent.

On this short course you will learn more about the skills needed to plan and take part in a variety of trips around the city. Working as a team, you will discuss and negotiate where to visit developing and growing confidence and independence skills.

Our Be Independent courses focus on fun, practical activities that will help you to gain and develop the skills to do more for yourself and others in your everyday life. All or our courses will have a Google Classroom which is an online place where your tutor will share information about your course. You can get on your Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. Your tutor can help you to do this. Whilst learning with us, you will be given an Individual Learning Plan. This will be used to share your course outcomes and your personal outcome and how much progress you are making towards them. Every session, your tutor will chat with you about your work and how you are getting on with your learning and the projects you are working on.

For people aged 25 and over with moderate learning disabilities. Before you join the course, you will meet one of our team who will help you make the right choice of course and to make sure we understand the best way to help you learn, progress, and enjoy your time.
