This non-accredited course is focused on introducing you to Microsoft 365: Primarily PowerPoint and Word with the opportunity to investigate Excel as well. This course is designed to be flexible and allow you a choice regarding your modules. It's an ideal course for those with only a little understanding of editing documents and knowledge, especially helpful for those wanting to work towards the Entry 3 digital qualification.

In this course you will be able to learn a mixture of PowerPoint and Word, as well as having the opportunity to begin exploring Excel. This may include, but not limited to: exploring different fonts, inserting images, setting up presentations, using text boxes, exploring image editing and a first look at Excel's core functions.

This course will take place in one of the digital suites at Leicester Adult Education. Throughout the course you will be introduced to a variety of skills related to PowerPoint and Word as well as beginning to explore Excel. We aim to be flexible in this course and allow you to choose your area of focus. Your tutor will discuss this with you during the first couple of sessions helping you choose which application(s) will be most suitable for you. As the course progresses you will be given tasks appropriate to your level and focus of study as well as being taught a range of skills across Microsoft 365. Being a non-accredited course there are no exams, you can work at your own pace and spend time practising your skills.

No prior understanding or knowledge of digital skills is required. However, you are expected to have at least Entry Level 2 English reading, listening and comprehension skills.

On completing the course you may be ready to progress on to Essential Digital Skills Entry 3. You may also want to continue developing your Microsoft Skills and progress onto the Microsoft Skills - Intermediate course.
