Throughout this course, you will develop practical digital skills including: • Using a range of digital devices • Managing files and folders. • Producing, formatting and editing digital documents, presentations, and multimedia content. • Exploring the best practices for online communication, including email etiquette and using messaging platforms. • Gain confidence in completing online transactions and accessing online services. • Understanding how to protect yourself and your data while navigating the digital world.

The course is designed to be engaging and interactive, with a combination of theoretical and practical activities. You will participate in hands-on tasks to build your digital literacy in real-world scenarios. The course includes both practical and theoretical assessments to measure your progress and understanding. There are two online exams which cover the following areas: • Using devices and handling information • Creating and editing digital content • Communicating effectively online • Transacting online • Being safe and responsible online The course is once-a-week for 18 weeks. Each class is 2.5 hours.

This course is suitable for individuals who have some basic prior experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with using the internet. It is also recommended for those who have completed a beginner’s or introductory course in Microsoft Office applications. You will also need to demonstrate a minimum of Entry 3 English skills.

Upon successful completion of the Digital Functional Skills Entry 3 course, you will be well-prepared to progress to the Microsoft Intermediate or Digital Functional Skills Level 1 course. This next level will allow you to further develop your digital abilities and increase your confidence in using technology in day-to-day life.
