Level 1 English Skills

This short English Skills course is designed to help you prepare for Functional Skills qualifications at Level 1 and Level 2. It will develop the core skills and knowledge you need to boost your confidence with using English in everyday tasks and situations.

• Develop essential English skills tailored to your specific learning needs. • Bridge gaps in your English knowledge to confidently progress to Functional Skills qualifications. • Build confidence in completing everyday English-related tasks, such as writing emails, understanding instructions, or supporting children with their homework.

There are no exams on this course. Classes are offered once or twice a week in face-to-face sessions. You will also use online platforms, including Google Classroom and Google Meet, so regular access to a PC, laptop, or tablet is essential. Attendance of at least 80% is required, and you are expected to arrive promptly and complete weekly homework assignments.

Before enrolling, you will complete an initial assessment to ensure this is the most appropriate course for your needs.

Upon completion, you will be ready to progress to the English Functional Skills Level 1 or Level 2 qualification course, opening doors to further education, employment or personal development.
