Ancient Greek: develop your reading skills

This course follows on from 'Ancient Greek advanced'. If you have previously studied some Greek but did not take that course, please get in touch to check before enrolling whether this is the right level for you.

In this course we'll pick up where we left off in the 'develop your knowledge' course, as we learn more about the main grammar and vocabulary of the language, and develop your reading fluency as we move on to longer, less adapted passages.

There will be no exams or qualifications. Therefore, the level of this course is not comparable to qualification courses with other providers. Unlike modern languages, there is no speaking and listening element and our work in classes will focus mainly on developing skills needed to read short passages. You will also have a chance to practise reading and writing skills as part of regular homework tasks. This gives the tutor an opportunity to identify group weaknesses and to provide you with personalised feedback to help you improve.

You must have some knowledge and understanding of the language.
