Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People

The L2 Award In Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People is designed to provide individuals with the essential knowledge and understanding required to safeguard children and young people, particularly within the workplace. It is suitable for anyone working with children and young people, whether in paid or voluntary roles.

By enrolling in this course, you will develop knowledge in the following areas: • Understanding how to safeguard and protect children, young people, and practitioners in the workplace. • Knowing how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.

This is a short knowledge-based course delivered through a variety of teaching methods. You will complete an open-response workbook, which will be assessed for certification.

To enrol, you will need: • A minimum Level 1 English qualification (Functional Skills or GCSE). • Ideally, to have or be working towards Level 2 in both English and Maths, as these are required for employment in statutory education. • To complete an initial assessment to confirm your current skill level and previous experience. • If you do not have proof of your qualifications (including a statement of comparability for overseas qualifications), you will need to complete an initial assessment for English and Maths.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, you may progress to: • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. • Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid. • Level 1 Preparing to Work in Schools. • Level 1 Working with Children. • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualifications.
