ESOL Prepare for Entry 1

Our ESOL Prepare for Entry 1 courses teach learners new skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. This course will teach learners the basic language skills needed to live in the UK.

ESOL Prepare for Entry 1 courses teach learners how to:

  • Use simple language to ask questions and ask for more information.
  • Understand simple instructions, listen to others, make comments and talk about likes and dislikes in a conversation.
  • Read short stories inside and outside the classroom. Learners will find information from different types of real-life reading material like bus and train timetables, text messages, menus, adverts and signs.
  • Complete forms with basic information. For example, name, address and phone number.
  • Write sentences about topics they’re studying.
  • Learn grammar and new words.
  • Learn spelling tips, memory techniques and study skills.

This course can lead to progression onto our ESOL Entry 1 courses.
