Rachael’s Journey Towards a Career in Education
Completing her Level 2 Teaching Assistant course has given Rachael the skills, confidence, and ambition to take the next step towards her dream role in education. Read more of Rachael’s journey.
After completing her Level 2 Teaching Assistant course with Leicester Adult Education, Rachael is now looking forward to starting Level 3 and taking the next step towards her dream career in education.
“I’ve always wanted to work with children, and for a few years now I’ve been looking at teaching. I’m 50 years old and have a full-time job, but I decided it was finally my time to follow my dream.”
Throughout the course, Rachael found the learning experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
“I’ve enjoyed all parts of this course with a fantastic course tutor. It’s gone so fast!”
As well as gaining new knowledge, Rachael has built lasting connections. “I’ve made some lovely friends from different cultures and backgrounds, it’s been an absolute pleasure.”
Balancing study with work and family life was manageable too. “My class was on a Thursday evening, which gave me time at the weekend to do homework,” she explains. “Some weeks were busier than others, but it was never too much or too little. I still had time to spend with my children and husband.”
She also felt well supported throughout her studies. “I was very well supported by all tutors. They were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.”
Completing the qualification has given Rachael the confidence a to move closer to her dream.
“Without the qualification it was difficult to take that next step. Now I’ve completed this course, it feels like a great start and hopefully a new chapter for me.”
Her message to others thinking about returning to learning is clear.
“I would absolutely recommend Leicester Adult Education, in fact, I already have! There are so many great options, both in college and online. I can definitely see myself working with children in the future, with Leicester Adult Education’s help, so thank you.”
Rachael’s story is a wonderful example of how determination and lifelong learning can open new doors. We’re so proud of her for following her dream. Rachael is planning to join us soon for Level 3 and we can’t wait to see what she achieves.
