Sherin’s Journey to Counselling Success
Sherin shares how completing her Level 4 Counselling course with us has supported her personal growth, confidence, and career ambitions. Now, Sherin is looking ahead to opening a private counselling practice.
Our Level 4 Counselling learner, Sherin, has just completed her qualification with us and is now one step closer to achieving her goal of setting up her own private counselling practice.
Sherin came to us, Leicester Adult Education, knowing that a Level 4 qualification was the next step she needed to progress in her career.
Reflecting on her time on the course, Sherin speaks highly of the consistent support she received from her tutor and the learning environment alongside other adult learners. Her class, and the sense of community with other students, helped create a supportive space for learning.
Returning to the classroom as an adult was a positive and “really enjoyable” experience for Sherin, particularly in contrast to her time at school. She describes adult learning as a much better experience, where learners feel supported, respected, and motivated to succeed.
While Sherin gained valuable counselling skills and knowledge, she says the experience was about much more than just gaining a qualification. Through adult learning, she found a renewed sense of self, explaining that the course gave her “a better chance at life and a new start to who I am, rediscovering myself and accepting myself.”
Sherin’s answer was simple when asked if she’d recommend one of our Skills for Work courses: “Yes!” She believes adult learning gives people “another chance” to follow their ambitions and truly “improve their lives.” For Sherin, it’s proof that it’s never too late to learn, grow, and achieve your goals.
Completing the Level 4 Counselling course has helped Sherin grow in confidence, and she now feels ready and excited to take the next steps towards her dream of opening her own private counselling practice.
We’re incredibly proud of the dedication Sherin has shown throughout her studies, and it has truly paid off. We can’t wait to see the practice she creates to support and help others!
