Digital Skills for Beginners

The Digital Skills for Beginners Course is a 5-week course for those who are new to using a computer or who have very little knowledge. It will provide you with the basics to get you started, develop your skills accessing a digital device to use the Internet and create documents.

There are a range of optional learning outcomes that your tutor will discuss with you to ensure the course is tailored to your needs. The Digital Skills for Beginners Course will teach you the basics of using the Internet and a range of applications.

This is a face to face, classroom-based course. You will be learning in an individualised environment at your own level and pace with the help and support of an experienced tutor. Your tutor will support you throughout this course until you have achieved your outcomes, at which point they will discuss progression opportunities for you.

There are no formal entry requirements. However, you are expected to have basic entry level English reading, listening and comprehension skills.

You will be able to improve and develop your Digital skills further on one of our progression courses. You may wish to progress onto an Entry 3 Qualification, Develop Your Microsoft Skills or a more specialist course. We have physical and digital resources available to support you and face to face careers appointments with our qualified and experienced adviser, all of which are easily accessed once enrolled.
