Advanced Italian: News and Debate (Notizie e Dibattiti)

This course is suitable for those who have an advanced knowledge of the language (CEFR Level C1/C2). Ideally, you would have completed a level 5 course.

ITALIAN - Se sei interessato all'attualità e vuoi avere l'opportunità di praticare il tuo italiano in un contesto diverso dal corso di lingua, questo è il tuo corso! Sebbene in classe utilizzeremo le 4 abilità linguistiche per leggere, parlare, ascoltare e scrivere notizie in italiano, il focus principale sarà sulla discussione. Attraverso uno scambio di idee e opinioni potrai sviluppare le tue capacità e acquisire consapevolezza di ciò che sta accadendo non solo in Italia, ma anche in altre parti del mondo. ENGLISH - If you are interested in current events and want to have the opportunity to practice your Italian in a context other than the language course, this is your course! Although in class we will use the 4 language skills to read, speak, listen and write news in Italian, the main focus will be on discussion. Through an exchange of ideas and opinions you will be able to develop your skills and become aware of what is happening not only in Italy, but also in other parts of the world.

There will be no exams or qualifications. Whilst you will, predominantly, be using speaking and listening skills in class, it is also important to recognise and address the fact that reading and writing skills are also very important at this level. Reading and writing will be explored as part of weekly homework, via Google Classroom, which the tutor will mark and feed the results back to you. This will help you both to know what needs to be done to help you progress.

You need to have a good understanding of the spoken language, as well as be able to produce it verbally (to a greater or lesser degree of accuracy) in order to access lessons and complete tasks effectively.
