So You Want To Work in Admin or Finance

If you are considering a career in administration, accountancy, bookkeeping, or other business finance roles and have no prior experience, this one session course is the perfect introduction.

This course is a basic induction to the business admin and finance courses. You will look at the following areas: • Introduction to the AAT and Sage Portals, identifying the differences between both. • Business Administration courses we offer, helping you decide which units are relevant. You will not have access to the AAT or Sage software during this course due to licensing restrictions.

This is a non-accredited one session course designed to introduce you to the business courses we offer. These include face to face AAT and Business Administration classes also the remote delivery of the Sage qualification. You will also familiarise yourself with the Google learning platform and determine your readiness for a qualification course, or identify areas where additional learning may be beneficial.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, but you should be working at an Entry 3 Level in English and Maths. Evidence of English and Maths qualifications may be required, or you may need to complete an initial assessment. Intermediate digital skills are also necessary. If needed, you can access a free essential digital skills course before or alongside this course. While access to a computer is not strictly necessary for this course, it is recommended as you will need one for the qualification courses. Additionally, you should confirm your eligibility for course fee funding for the Level 2 Sage qualification prior to enrolling on this free introductory course.

On successful completion of the initial assessment during this course, you may progress onto the Level 1 or 2 AAT, Level 2 Business Administration or Level 2 Sage qualifications. This course will help you explore other potential career paths before making a long-term commitment.
