L1 Award in Interpersonal Skills

The Level 1 Award in Interpersonal Skills is a vocational qualification designed to help you develop essential skills for interacting with others. Whether you are looking to start a career in counselling, customer service, education, retail or social care. Or simply want to improve your personal and professional relationships, this course provides an excellent foundation.

This course will enable you to develop knowledge and skills across the three following units: • Understanding and using interpersonal skills effectively • Building assertiveness and self-esteem • Enhancing communication and relationship-building abilities

The course involves classroom-based discussions, short written assignments, and group activities. You will compile a portfolio of evidence, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in interpersonal skills.

You will need to complete an English initial assessment to ensure the course is suitable for you. Confidence using digital skills is essential as the qualification is assessed through an online multiple-choice examination. A minimum of Entry 3 (Functional Skills) in English and maths or ESOL Level 2 is recommended. Higher-level English skills are beneficial for progression to Level 2 qualifications or employment opportunities.
