Are you looking to enhance your digital skills for the workplace and everyday life? Digital Functional Skills Level 1 is designed to equip you with the essential technology skills needed for the workplace, while also enhancing your everyday digital abilities. This NCFE qualification course is ideal for those who have completed the Entry 3 qualification and are looking to build on their existing knowledge and confidence with digital tools. Whether you plan to improve your skills for employment or simply want to feel more confident navigating the digital landscape, this course is the perfect next step.

In Level 1 he focus shifts more towards skills for work, with a secondary emphasis on improving digital skills for life. You will gain hands-on experience with technology commonly used in the workplace, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You’ll also develop everyday digital competencies that will help you in practical situations, such as online transactions and safe internet use. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to: • Confidently use a variety of digital devices and manage information effectively. • Create and edit documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. • Communicate effectively using email and other digital platforms. • Carry out online transactions securely and efficiently. • Stay safe and act responsibly online.

The course is designed to be engaging and interactive, with a combination of theoretical and practical activities. You will participate in hands-on tasks to build your digital literacy in real-world scenarios. The course includes both practical and theoretical assessments to measure your progress and understanding. The course includes one final exam which covers the following areas at a greater depth than Entry 3: • Using devices and handling information • Creating and editing digital content • Communicating effectively online • Transacting online • Being safe and responsible online

This course is suitable for individuals who have: • experience using Word and PowerPoint • basic knowledge of Excel • an Entry 3 Digital Functional Skills qualification or equivalent experience • demonstrate minimum of Entry 3 English skills

Upon completing Digital Functional Skills Level 1, you’ll have the confidence and skills to progress further. Possible next steps include: Microsoft Skills – Pre-L2 course to refine your expertise in digital tools and then onto our Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills. As many jobs now require digital literacy, this qualification helps individuals meet the demands of the modern workplace.
