Our non-qualification courses are co-funded for eligible learners who are aged 19+, Fees are calculated using the following hourly rates:

Co-funded (£4.00 per hour)
Beginners and Introduction (£3.50 per hour)
One Day Saturday Courses (£5.00 per hour)

This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning disabilities. This course will benefit people who want to learn more about how to use digital devices and the internet to support their everyday life

On this course you will develop your skills in using computers, smartphones and tablets. You will learn how to safely and sensibly use the internet and different apps to explore everyday topics eg health, travel, Leicester, hobbies, wellbeing activities etc. You will develop your skills in searching online for particular subjects that you are personally interested in. You will develop your computer skills using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, to design colourful images and create engaging presentations. You will also learn how to communicate with others online including email safely.

Our Be Independent courses focus on fun, practical activities that will help you to gain and develop the skills to do more for yourself and others in your everyday life. All or our courses will have a Google Classroom which is an online place where your tutor will share information about your course. Google classroom is an online platform for teaching and learning. You can get on your Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. Your tutor can help you to do this. Whilst learning with us, you will be given an Individual Learning Plan. This will be used to share your course outcomes and your personal outcome and how much progress you are making towards them. Every session, your tutor will chat with you about your work and how you are getting on with your learning and the projects you are working on.

This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning disabilities. You will need entry level reading, writing and comprehension skills. Before you join the course, you will meet one of our team who will help you make the right choice of course and to make sure we understand the best way to help you learn, progress, and enjoy your time.
