This course is for people aged 25 or over, who have moderate learning difficulties and disabilities. This course will benefit people who enjoy being creative and would like to work with clay. They will be interested in learning different techniques and styles which they will use to make their own pieces of pottery. There will be an extra cost which will include all the resources that will be used in each session. This will be £2.50 per session and includes clay, glazes, firing and will be included in the course fees. If you attend courses in the morning and afternoon at Bishopdale Adult Learning Hub please bring your own lunch.

On this course you will develop a range of skills to create functional and sculptural items using a range of hand building techniques, including pinch pots, coiling and slab building. You will learn how to decorate and embellish your pots using slips and glazes. Your work will be inspired by a variety of themes such as the natural world and famous artists. You will get the chance to display your work at our annual art exhibition.

Our Be Creative courses focus on fun, practical activities that will help you to gain and develop the skills to create your own designs and projects. All or our courses will have a Google Classroom which is an online place where your tutor will share information about your course. You can get on your Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. Your tutor can help you to do this. Whilst learning with us, you will be given an Individual Learning Plan. This will be used to share your course outcomes and your personal outcome and how much progress you are making towards them. Every session, your tutor will chat with you about your work and how you are getting on with your learning and the projects you are working on.

For people aged 25 and over with moderate learning disabilities. Before you join the course, you will meet one of our team who will help you make the right choice of course and to make sure we understand the best way to help you learn, progress, and enjoy your time.

If you would like to develop new skills and interests, there are lots of other courses for you to try.
