Arm Knitting - Festive Puds

This day course is intended for people with mixed levels of experience. The tutor will ensure that total beginners will get the instruction and support they need, and that those who are more advanced in the subject will be given tasks with more challenge.

Learn the art of arm knitting to create a 3D Festive Pudding! Learn the stitches and techniques involved in knitting in the 3-dimentional form. Understand tension and how it affects the knit stitch. Learn how to increase and decrease the knit stitch and cast off.

The lesson will be classroom based and supported by Google Classroom. This is our virtual learning space which will enhance your learning experience and will be used for resources, assessment, as well as to extend learning outside the classroom and to support independent learning. You will be able to access Google Classroom via your secure leicesterlearns account. You will be asked to contribute to a Learning Plan and the class Padlet on which you and the tutor will be able to chart your progress. You will be expected to contribute to discussions and comment in writing on your learning, and your tutor will give you feedback and suggestions on ways in which you can improve. So that you can be successful in learning the subject, we do require that you arrive promptly. 2 jumbo Chenille wool balls and stuffing have been included in the course cost price.

There will be no exams or qualifications, as the course will focus on creative activities. The Tutor will use a combination of group demonstrations and one-to-one support. To ensure fair access to our high-demand tailored learning courses and to better support your learning journey, we are moving to a termly enrolment cycle. This means you will now enrol for one term at a time. Your tutor will work with you during the term to identify the best progression route for your goals.
