Art Exhibition - Opening Night

We're really excited to announce that our art exhibition, called 'We Present: Leicester Adult Education', is back for 2023! 

Our exhibition celebrates the arts as presented by Leicester Adult Education’s Adult Learners, through an eclectic display of what can be achieved on a variety of our Arts courses.

To mark the relaunch of our exhibition, we are holding an opening night on Thursday June 29^th 7:00pm until 8:00pm. The exhibition is at Leicester Adult Education College, in our Balcony Gallery above the café.

Over 100 pieces of artwork will be exhibited on the night. Learners have been invited, along with their tutors, family members and friends, to join in the celebrations and showcase their artwork. Our art Tutor, Pete, will also be delivering a speech about the exhibition and our learner’s dedication to art.

And you’re invited! Join us to celebrate our Learner’s success on Thursday 29^th June from 6.30pm until 8:00pm. If you’d like to attend, please email adult.ed-marketing@leicester.gov.uk with the number of people attending with you.

Our exhibition includes artwork from our mainstream curriculum Arts courses. Just a small example of these includes Draw, Paint & Mixed Media, Watercolour Painting, Oil Painting, Botanical Illustrations, Life Drawing, Portraiture and Online Art. We are also thrilled to have artwork exhibited by our Pottery, Jewellery and Sewing and Textiles learners too

Artwork will also be presented from learners within our REMIT programme (courses for learners with enduring and severe mental health) in the café gallery and our LLDD programme (courses for learners with learning differences).

Leicester Adult Education has worked on a number of community inclusion projects over this academic year, a selection of which, can be viewed in our exhibition.

We can’t wait for the opening night and to have our learner’s artwork up in the gallery once again. The gallery will be open to the public from Friday 30^th June until Friday 1^st September. We hope to see you there!
