When Farzana decided she wanted to move into full-time employment, she knew she needed the right skills, confidence and qualifications to take the next step. Joining a Skills for Work course at Leicester Adult Education became the turning point that helped her rediscover her love of learning and start her journey of progression into further courses and future career opportunities.

After her cousin recommended Leicester Adult Education, Farzana decided to take the first step by enrolling on one of our Working with Children courses. She had previously struggled to find a provider that could fit around her lifestyle and work commitments, so she was pleasantly surprised by how flexible the course was.

“As I work, other providers’ times and days were not suitable. You guys exceeded my expectations.”

During her Working with Children course, she quickly discovered how much she enjoyed learning again.

“I enjoyed everything about this course. It covers the foundations of working with children in early years.”

Returning to the classroom as an adult can feel daunting, but for Farzana it became one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.

“I really enjoyed being back in the classroom. Not only do you gain knowledge, but we get to interact with different people, cultures and have a good laugh too.”

Farzana also felt strongly supported throughout her learning journey by her tutor, Amanda.

“My tutor Amanda is excellent; she provided us with the best support she could. Her guidance improved our confidence and knowledge of the subject we were learning.”

The encouragement and guidance from tutors made a real difference to Farzana’s experience and progress. She felt supported from the very start through to the end of the course.

“Yes, I would recommend these courses. They provide you with beginning-to-end support to reach your goal and destination.”

Farzana’s journey doesn’t stop here. She’s already planning her next steps and thinking about how further learning can help her achieve her career ambitions.

“I will be looking at other courses at the beginning of the next academic year to help me get a full-time job or gain more knowledge to progress in the work I do at the moment.”

With renewed confidence and new skills, Farzana is continuing her learning journey and exploring further opportunities within the Working with Children pathway. She is just one of the many learners who proves that it’s never too late to take that first step back into learning and that adult learning can open doors and create real progression opportunities.

Our Working with Children courses are designed to give learners the skills, confidence and knowledge to begin or progress their journey into roles supporting children and families.
