English Level 1/Level 2 (Functional Skills) ONLINE

Looking to improve your English skills and gain a recognised qualification? Our online courses in English Functional Skills at Levels 1 and 2 are designed to help you develop essential knowledge and practical skills for everyday life, work, and further education.

• Learn spelling, punctuation, grammar, reading, writing, and speaking & listening. • Gain confidence to support your children with homework. • Progress to higher-level English or vocational courses. • Boost your employability with a recognised qualification.

Courses are delivered online with flexible options: • Twice-a-week courses: 4 hours per week, complete two levels in one academic year. Exams in February and June/July. • Once-a-week courses: 2 hours per week, exams mainly in June/July. Speaking and listening assessments (two discussions and a presentation) will be conducted online via Google Classroom and recorded for assessment purposes. These will require additional sessions outside normal class times. To successfully complete the course, you must: • Have a pc, laptop or tablet • Log on promptly for each session. • Attend at least 80% of lessons. • Complete weekly homework.

• Complete an English initial assessment to determine your level. • You must have access to a PC, laptop, or tablet, stable internet connectivity and a quiet area. • A good level of digital skills is essential. Before starting, you will need to complete a 'How to Use Google Classroom' course.
