British Sign Language - Introduction to BSL

This course is an introduction to British Sign Language and is open to learners with some previous basic knowledge and with those with no existing knowledge or skills

This course is designed to help learners develop basic language skills including fingerspelling, deaf awareness and basic signs for communication.

In this non-qualification course you will learn the language in an immersive way. The tutor will be responsive to the class needs, responding to the group weaknesses. Learners are expected to practice their BSL both in class and as homework tasks. This gives the tutor an opportunity to identify group weaknesses and to provide you with personalised feedback to help you improve.
