Employment Skills courses are designed to fully equip learners with the crucial skills needed to gain employment within a specific career or to progress within current employment.

This year, courses include helping learners become self-employed, introducing learners to finance in self-employment and exploring online marketing using social media platforms to support a learner’s business goals.

Sally Griffiths – IT & Employability

Back in 2008, Sally joined Leicester Adult Education as a Russian language learner. However, more recently, the COVID-19 pandemic changed Sally’s situation and she decided to join our IT and Employability courses.

Sally told us that enrolling on these courses:

“Have really helped me be more confident with things and helped me to identify what further learning I needed. The CV course really gave me the confidence to adapt my CV for particular jobs and the interview tips were really helpful in getting me to think about what questions I should ask at an interview”

Sally is also a self-employed Oboe teacher. She has used the IT skills that she has developed to create resources for her own teaching, such as creating videos and incorporating other YouTube videos into her lessons. When asked ‘what’s next’ Sally is optimistic about her future.

We have loved watching Sally progress and we can’t wait to see what else she achieves!
