Are you looking to stand out in the competitive fashion industry? Our new neighbours may be able to help!
Our friends, Fashion Textile Academy have just opened the doors to their Fashion Hub. The Fashion Hub, in Phoenix House, is across the road from us on Wellington Street.
Opening the Fashion Hub is part of a partnership between Fashion-Enter Ltd, Leicester City Council and sponsor, the Triumph Needle Company. In the Fashion Hub, they are providing Level 1 and Level 2 accredited course on Fashion and Textiles. They are also offering Level 3 Skills Bootcamp in Garment Production Techniques. These courses are funded by Leicester City Council through UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Skills Boot Camp Programme.
Learners on the Level 3 equivalent Skills Bootcamp in Garment Production Techniques will be taught a great range of skills, including:
. Measuring, cutting, and constructing a basic pattern.
. Threading industrial sewing machines
. Understanding how to cut fabric from a pattern
. Understanding different fabrics
. How to make a garment from a pattern
Experienced tutors will offer support and guidance every step of the way.
These skills can be utilised to help you find employment. Our Sewing and Textiles students are so passionate about their courses, and if they’re looking at taking the steps towards employment in the textile industry, we couldn’t recommend Fashion Textile Academy enough!
Learn more about the course, including entry requirements, on Fashion Textile Academy’s website.
We are delighted to have our new neighbours and we’re looking forward to seeing them grow. Here’s a few words from Jenny Holloway, Fashion-Enter Ltd.’s founder:
“Opening such a large venture has been a huge team effort! Grateful thanks to Leicester City Council, Alan May and the team at Triumph Needle Company and All support from Kerry Gray from Leicester Adult Education. We’re on a mission to make Leicester bigger and better than ever before! Skills Bootcamps are flexible 4-week courses. They equip individuals with sector specific skills essential for their business or career development.”
Skills Bootcamps give people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills. You can learn more about other Skills Bootcamps on Leicester Employment Hub’s website.
